Sweet as a Cherry

The fine grains of sugar

In every coffee shop

The pink, yellow and brown bags

That can give drinks quite a shock

Sweet tea, coffee or anything at all

The sweet sweetener can make it all feel strong

The shine of fruit

The squish of ripeness

The cool and pink colours

Mash together

But here is one

Connected on the stem

The cool cherry

With a solid big pit

What is it together?

Anything at all?

Sweet as a cherry?

Is that really right?

Is a cherry sweet, compared to other fruits insight?

I guess that’s not my place to say

What you see is what you get

But taste changes all that

This way

When a cherry has a pit

When sugar is sweet

That is when this saying meets
