Stay the Same

Let us keep the symbolic the same.

The phrases, images and names.

That makes for an understanding.

That prove for a greater demanding

Hope and change for all.

I don’t know why you want that change,

When the real one should be apparent.

We should stop the cause of all,

Not the symbol that represents it.

The struggles, deaths and sadness,

Brought upon by other humans.

I do not know why we feel that we should still do this.

War is not the answer,

And that is what needs to change.

Not the flower that shows blood and trauma,

And the widows that were made.

I sit and stare at the backlash,

They grow redder like a rash.

A small idea denied by many,

For the political views stash

Away the right and wrong.

There is not always a song,

To fit every need.

To please,

Everyone who wants to be pleased.

So let us advocate to stop what started this movement.

But of course still, recognize,

What happened still happened.

And for that I say,

Thank you.

Green Circle Spins

Round and round it goes When will it stop? The colour of grass and lime Make my skin as white as the snow That falls oh how heavily On the patchy gravel roads The money paid doesn’t getaway From the cracks and holes spotted daily Or the roadkill on the sidewalks As I walk down […]
