As the disguise fades

I look into the eyes of someone new

The sharp rays

Of deceit

Through the deep lakes of blue

Although I feel pain for those lasting moments

I see now that I was wrong

I only needed you to show me

I only wonder now

How it lasted so long?

The folders pile up

Like books on an endless shelf

The fog over my eyes seems to change

And I can truly see myself

Your arms only carried a small weight of me

And I can stand on my own

The lessons that you taught me

Have taught me that I need to grow

Wind breezes by now

And dries my single tear

I connect myself to you no longer

And to me that is so clear

Your locks and scarf do not faze me

The games you tried to play

Told me I broke the promises

That were never even made

I guess now we are entangled

In a web of unknowingness

The sharp reality of your truth

Cuts deep into me like a serum

The less I know the better

From here on and out

The less I know the better

For I can move on

Without a doubt.

Green Circle Spins

Round and round it goes When will it stop? The colour of grass and lime Make my skin as white as the snow That falls oh how heavily On the patchy gravel roads The money paid doesn’t getaway From the cracks and holes spotted daily Or the roadkill on the sidewalks As I walk down […]
