The appeal of the flash
The orange and yellow balls
The big wheels, the targets, and the dance floors
Why are they so appealing?
How do they bring us so far in?
Tickets flying in and out
The kids, they scream and shout
JACKPOT!
Or just so close…
I guess we will never know
For the yelling of happiness or frustration
Sound more similar when you’re on the go
Maybe to the next game
Or out to break the cycle
Or maybe to the coin machine
To put in some more dollars
First one, then two, then three, then four
The coins fly out so fast
That some slide and hit the floor
As you reach to grab them off the coloured carpet
A special game hits your eye
Grab your best buddy
And try to not let the ball land high
The fish on the screen stare
Although they are not real
They seem to ridicule you
And BOOM!
The ball begins to fall
One bowl by one the ball starts to sink
Your face can say it all
Hoping to hit the 100 or 1000
Maybe you could get a bookmark
Over at the ticket collector
I say this all but really
I am intrigued too
For the flashing lights draw me in
And the short games make me want to win.
