I wore green pants on the day we met

My friend told me they made me exciting and fun

Not sure if that was an insult, but yet

I took it as such and broke a sweat.

That is why I did not meet you wearing green pants

As it was too much of a fright

I thought about it long and decided I can’t

Although perhaps it made no difference was in sight

On the rack, they seemed nice

Like something out of a movie

I wouldnt’ have thought twice

Seeing a character I know

In those evergreen pants

Alas, that is just the mystery

Given to us all

To be or not to be ourselves

To rise before we fall

Expectations are not grounded

And yet they are confounded

With the wires of which make up our brains.

I See It
