It’s those first steps

That makes it worth the while

I know it’s scary

Soon those feelings won’t pile

Years from this day will seem

A lifetime away

And you’ll wish that it was still

That first day

That first day where you dreaded going

But ended up enjoying

Your years there went too fast

Only some friendships could last

And keeping others

Seemed too hard of a task

The nervousness

Of trying out

New things

But only to make memories that stay

This is what life was for

Failure and success

Falling on the floor

Raising to the top

Much more humble than before

And I see why you cry

Why the tears drip down your face

This seems all too hard

At too fast of a pace

But it’s worth it

So many things you can see

If you open up your heart

And look at what you bring

You can be the person who makes someone else feel tall

Although they feel just too small

The cycle doesn’t end

The feelings are amends

I hope you see through the foggy glass

To open yourself up

And see your class.

Green Circle Spins

Round and round it goes When will it stop? The colour of grass and lime Make my skin as white as the snow That falls oh how heavily On the patchy gravel roads The money paid doesn’t getaway From the cracks and holes spotted daily Or the roadkill on the sidewalks As I walk down […]
